Red brown pill with I-2 marking is an analgesic pill with ibuprofen 200 as an active ingredient.

i-2 pill is used in the management of mild to moderate pain symptoms of Fever, Dysmenorrhoea, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.

i-2 pill is an everyday over the counter painkiller for a range of aches and pains, including back pain, stomach pain, toothache and dysmenorrhea.

Precautions & Warnings

  • People with history of allergy to any ingredient of i-2 pill should avoid it.
  • Patient with liver disorders like liver fibrosis, cirrhosis or liver failure should avoid i-2 pill.

Dosage of I-2 Pill

The usual dose for adults is one or two pills 3 times a day. But in some cases, your doctor may prescribe a higher dose depending on your condition.

If you are prescribed with i-2 pill 3 times a day, leave at least 6 hours between doses. If you are prescribed with 4 times a day, leave at least 4 hours between doses.

Swallow i-2 pill whole with a glass of water or juice. You should take i-2 pill after a meal or snack or with a drink of milk. It will be less likely to upset your stomach.

Do not chew, break, crush or suck i-2 pill as this could irritate your mouth or throat.

What if I forget to take i-2 pill?

Take missed dose as soon as you remember it. Do not take extra dose to make up missed dose.

However, if it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your next dose as normal.

Side effects of i-2 pill

Like other medicines i-2 pill also causes side effects. The common side effects of i-2 pill taken by mouth happen in more than 1 in 100 people. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if these side effects bother you or don’t go away:

  • headaches
  • feeling dizzy
  • feeling sick (nausea)
  • being sick (vomiting)
  • wind
  • indigestion

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

i-2 pill isn’t normally recommended in pregnancy – especially if you’re 30 or more weeks – unless it is recommended by your doctor.

In clinical studies active ingredient of i-2 pill showed some birth defects, in particular damage to the baby’s heart and blood vessels.

It may also cause miscarriage in early pregnancy.
