Indications & Dosage Guidelines
Therapeutic Indications
- Moderate to Moderately Severe Pain: Indicated for acute post-surgical pain, injury-related pain, and chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis or severe musculoskeletal pain when non-opioid analgesics are inadequate.
Typical Adult Dosage (Immediate-Release)
- Initial / Acute Pain Dose: 25 mg to 50 mg orally every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain.
- Titration: May increase by 50 mg every 3 days as tolerated to reach optimal pain relief.
- Maximum Daily Dose: 400 mg per day (8 tablets of 50 mg) for adults with normal hepatic and renal function.
- Special Populations:
- Elderly (≥ 75 years): Maximum daily dose should generally not exceed 300 mg due to reduced clearance.
